There are slow metabolisms and fast metabolisms. To find out what metabolism you are made of, read on.<\/p>\n<h2>What is metabolism?<\/h2>\n<p>Metabolism is the set of chemical reactions that take place within a living being to ensure two essential activities, namely:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keeping the organism alive, that is to say allowing breathing, the heartbeat, nourishment of the brain, digestion, etc. We then speak of\u00a0<strong>basal metabolism<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Increase the energy requirement necessary for the proper functioning of the body during physical exercise.
