Who is victor?
No need to introduce Victor.
Slender figure and hipster beard.
Passionate about cycling, he becomes one with his fixie. For several months, he has been training hard, and he joined a “team”: The fighters! Together, they tread the asphalt at high speed from the top of their light mounts without brakes. Last weekend they were in Milan. As in any competition, there are falls and disappointments, but as someone else said: the important thing is...
This is the story of Victorian adventures
» First step in a big league where high-tech “machines roll” between two quad fights. Crazy atmosphere, imposing sponsorship stand. We are happy with a small piece of parking to set up our stable. A well-conducted warm-up, dictated by our dear marabout president who puts me in good condition despite the difficult weekend in terms of sensations. 1:30 p.m.! It's time for group 5 to take their seats. Among runners, caviar jersey is all the rage with its saying “Satan ride with us”. This time we are not repeating the mistakes of the Crit de Paris and the #NMC and I am taking a good place at the head of the peloton. The discovery tours begin: but what a boulevard!!! Indeed the circuit is very fast, I will have to surpass myself and show that my efforts will not have been in vain. I manage to quickly place myself in the leading group in order to set a pace allowing me to explore the circuit correctly without having to slow down too much when approaching the turns. The laps come one after the other and the rare glances at the speedometer are rather promising, I don't feel like I'm making a huge effort but my speed is greater than usual. I can't wait to get my turn fast so I can prove myself. The green flags are flying everywhere, that's it, we can finally put on the gas, that's good, here's the last turn. In front, it accelerates, I get up to follow, and there, BAM it's disappointment!! My rear wheel goes out of alignment, I derail. The staff immediately took me out. Panicked I ask them for their tools, the guys rush to help me. After a few minutes of fighting against that damn wheel, I'm back on the track. A slow lap just to overtake the resting groups and boom I'm off for a quick lap. BUT restarts being alone and after 5 minutes of stopping are difficult. I whistle to warn of my arrival, it plays fair and clears the way. One or two rest laps later and the last two minutes are announced. So I'm going for one last quick look to save the furniture. My legs burn, the muscles tear, I finish with a bitter taste.
Overall 183rd place!! Not even the right to a last chance; Shame.
Training will resume in three weeks to prepare for the next season.
Objective #1: gain strength.
Objective #2: gain strength endurance.
Objective no. 3: work more mentally in order to fully exploit the turns.
Thank you to all my friends and partners for their support both during training and during the competition, and above all a big thank you to all my aquabikers for their interest in my passion.
I am always happy to answer your questions and keep you updated on my performance. “
Although Victor only ranked 183rd in this event, for many of you he remains the number 1 coach!
